Thankfulness

“I’ll write a real update tomorrow.”

Thus repeats the age old chorus of bloggers around the world.

I’ve been sick again. Twice in one month I’ve been felled by nasty colds. Thankfully, I’m almost well, since today is the last day of my “Golden Week” vacation and my classes resume tomorrow afternoon! Thanks to Golden Week and the existence of weekends, I only had to take one day off from teaching to sleep.

Thanks to my friend, Mrs. E, I was able to get to the doctor for medicine much more quickly than the last time I was sick. Thanks to our friend Maria and her children, I’ve had fresh fruit to eat while recovering. Thanks to Judy, I have been able to rest more at home while she took on some of my chores. Thanks to the prayers and support of folks back home, I’ve had a much quicker recovery. Thanks to God’s kind provision, I don’t have to worry about being sick alone in a foreign country and running out of necessities – I’ve been quite comfortable, really.

I owe so much to so many — the little stack of thank you notes I’m so dreadfully behind on can not express my gratitude. I still hope to get to writing them, but in the meantime, here is a big thank you to all those of you who have shown such love without any thought of return. You are kind, you are precious, you are inspiring. Thank you.

Glad you’re feeling almost better! Eating good food always helps, but so does wiping down all surfaces with disinfectant/Clorox wipes. Make sure you get all flat surfaces around food, your desk, door handles, and toilet handles^^^^^^^ controls.
